¡Hola! Hallo!
My name is Daria Yune and I grew up in a world of contrast. Quite literally.
I was born in Mexico City, a place characterized by it's huge size, insecurity and numerous inequalities. (According to Forbes, ten years ago, a mexican was ranked richest person in the world, while almost 10 percent of mexicans were living in extreme poverty)
Alongside that, my household was known for the ongoing language switch between Dutch and Spanish. The reason? Because long before I was born, my story actually started in Israel: where my 'adventurous' father met a much more adventurous woman from the Netherlands with whom he travelled with and years later married. She is now my mother. Raised between two opposite cultures I always felt different per default, no matter the context. Though with time I have also come to appreciate living in the 'inbetween'. I often tell people that eventhough, I sometimes may feel like there is not a single place I belong to on the good days I feel like one of the richest people on earth.
